How to configure a new leave type code
Creating a new leave type in Workforce TNA allows you to track and manage different types of employee leave, such as Annual Leave, Sick Leave, RDOs, or custom leave categories.
Leave types are used to categorise time off and can be linked to payroll codes for accurate processing. You can customise the name, type, and behaviour of each leave code to suit your organisation’s policies.
Notes:
- Leave types can be configured to accrue RDOs or allow employee requests.
- Each leave type must have a unique name and code.
- You can assign leave types to specific payroll categories.
To configure a new leave type code, follow these steps:
- Go to Shift Setup > Leave.
- Click Add to create a new leave type.
- In the General tab:
- Enter a Name (e.g., Annual Leave, Sick Leave).
- Enter a Code (used for payroll integration).
- Select the Leave Type from the dropdown (Annual, Sick, RDO, Unpaid, Other).
- Set the Pay Factor (e.g., 1.0 for full pay).
- Optional settings:
- Enable RDO Accrual if this leave contributes to RDOs.
- Allow Employee Requests if staff can request this leave type via the portal.
- Require Attachments if supporting documents (e.g., medical certificates) are needed for this leave type.
- Export as Earnings Paycode if the leave should be included in payroll exports as an earnings line item.
- Click Save.
